How can we monitor progress towards these goals in ways that inspire people to continue doing and deepening DEIB work with actionable strategies? Light the Fire, Fan the Flame, Carry the Torch: A Whole Summer Approach to Staff Wellness and Support

Did your staff struggle this summer?  Was it difficult to meet their evolving needs?  In the camp setting, vicarious trauma and burnout are real risks that impact staff performance, wellness, and stress management.  This session introduces a three-part framework – Light the Fire, Fan the Flame, Carry the Torch – designed to address these emotional and complex issues.  By implementing this approach, we aim to enhance staff support, establish healthy boundaries between employees and employers, and teach wellness techniques tailored for the camp environment. This will contribute to a healthier work environment and improve staff retention.
